The Drill: stolen base relay

Description: stolen base relay

Instructions: Divide your players into 3 or 4 equal teams. Use the outfield grass and place 2 gloves for each team equal to the basepath distance of your age group. Place half the players at one glove (base) and the other half at the other glove. On the coaches command, the first runner of each team takes off to steal a base. Runners must slide. When contact is made with the base, the next runner leaves in the opposite direction. First team to complete one stolen base each is the winner. Runners leaving early are "picked" off and their team is out.
