Breakaway Start - Stop

For age level: 8 to 10

Explanation: Players start on the goal line each with a puck. On the whistle, they start using a one handed puck carry as if on a breakaway. Players stop on the whistle, facing the coach, and change direction, again with a break away puck carry.

Tips: Vary the duration of the puck carry each time. On the stop, players should have two hands on their stick and heads up. Drill can also be performed using the lines of the rink.
