The Course

For age level: 8 to 10

Explanation: The Course teaches kids to have short hard working shifts and to change on the fly. Pylons are set up at the 4 faceoff dots in the neutral zone. All players start from the bench. 4 players start on the course, skating at full speed around the pylon course. A coach passes a puck to the player working the hardest who skates to the end of the ice on a breakaway to shoot on the goalie. Players change on the fly with other players on the bench as they get tired.

Tips: Players should be able to skate a maximum of two laps before they noticeably slow down. Players who are not skating hard should be senbt to the bench.
