3 Man Attack

For age level: 11 to 13

Explanation: 3 Players start in a line in one corner. Player 1 skates to the defense position at the blue line, center of the ice. Player 2 skates to the defense position near the boards. Player 3 passes the puck to Player who makes a D to D pass to the defense in the center shooting position. Player 1 goes to the front of the net for a tip or rebound, Player 2 goes to the net for a rebound. Player 1 takes a low shot on net to cause a tip or a rebound goal.

Tips: To add a degree of difficulty, instead of a pass from Player 3 to Player 2, have them attempt to bounce the puck off the boards and out of the zone. The D man then first has to keep the puck in then make the D to D pass. This drill can also be combined with a cycle drill in the corner, one player goes to the net, one to the high slot, and the third passes the puck from the corner to the shooter in the high slot.
