Agility Circuit

For age level: 8 to 10

Explanation: Players work through the four stations of the cicuit, from Transition Triangle to Pylon Weave and Stick Hop. In Transition Triangle, skaters start at the bottom pylon, skate forward to the pylon, switch to backwards skating to return to the starting pylon, then to continue with the remaining two pylons. Figure 8s are done both forwards and backwards. Have the skater complete 5 full fugure 8s before moving to the next drill. For Pylon Weave, players should skate at full speed, a few wipeouts is a good indication players are on the edge of their ability. Stick hop should be done as a glide - two foot hop - glide - two foot - hop, etc.

Tips: Later in the season, introduce puck carrying to each element of the circuit.
